Cook together! According to a study by John Gray, author of "Men are from Mars, Women are From Venus" 82% of couples who hang out in the kitchen rate their relationship as "excellent."

What do you think? Do you and your SO cook and does it improve your time together? Personally, I think that if people have an excellent relationship to begin with, they're more likely to be cooking and doing other activities together as a couple. So does cooking together make them happy, or are they cooking together because they're happy?

Shawn & I cook together at least once a week, because it builds team work but it's also just fun. :) There are so many times where we've just messed up a recipe so bad that there is no salvaging it ... which forces us to start over, which makes the mess greater, which makes the laughter richer, which makes the evening more enjoyable.

The best part though? When it's done, you get to sit down with someone who helped you get there & really enjoy something great. Food seems to taste better when we make it together, & especially when we struggle making it! It's just a better end product ... & it usually encourages us to have a glass of wine, sit at the TABLE (which is a big deal), & just relax.

I LOVE cooking together. :D

& honestly, I think it's a relationship builder - but it's not likely to be something that you see being done until after other accomplishments as a couple. The first meal we cooked together was on our one year anniversary. So, I think couples cook together because they're happy & because they know each other. I need to be comfortable with someone before I'm comfortable cooking with them. Strange, but true.
