Do you feel comfortable enough to give your resume to your boss in check over and/or verifying that you've properly represented your job and responsiblities?

Where I work, we have a lot of privacy/patent issues that we need to abide by, so there are certain things about my work that I can't discuss. Therefore, it's important that I have my boss check over my job description to verify that I haven't mentioned anything I shouldn't. This is kind of awkward given that its clear I'm looking for a new job, but at the same time, I'm expected to be looking for a new position at this point, so my job search doesn't need to be covert.

That isn't something I could over with my boss at all. It would be a dead give away that I was looking for something new. It is also something I wouldn't feel comfortable sharing with him. If it was with the boss I had when I first started here back in 2001 then I could easily go to her about it without worrying about red flags being raised.

When I have gone over my resume in the past few months, I had one of my co-workers that I trusted 100% look it over to give feed back on if I was missing anything, things that should or shouldn't be added, etc.

In your situation it sounds like you have a valid reason for letting your boss look it over without it causing any unwanted attention which is awesome!!

I don't think I would have a problem doing that...they know I'm not leaving anytime soon! I love my job!
