Who is willing to admit that they've taken office supplies from their place of employment?

What have you taken?

Do you think this is acceptable or normal behavior?

Have you, or do have coworkers who have taken something for personal use that is far larger or valued higher than say a pen or some post-its?

I have. Honestly, as sad as it is, I think its normal. But I mean I've taken like the usual small stuff like a pen I really like, maybe some post-its, etc. I haven't taken anything big like a computer monitor or something, LOL.

Is it acceptable? Um....well probably not, lol, because technically its still stealing.

I've taken a couple pens, but I don't think I've taken anything intentionally. I'll do something in my checkbook, and just throw the pen in my purse when I'm done. I'm kind of a pen klepto I guess you could say, whenever I get a pen that I like, even in a store or something I always catch myself almost walking away with it.

The only thing that I have taken from any place that I have worked at was a pack of matches that had the name of the restuarant that I worked at on it. Technically, it wasn't stealing since they were there for people to take. I do think it's normal that people take stuff from their jobs though, whether or not it's acceptable is another thing.

I have taken pens or pencils every so often. Not something I'd say I even did regularly. If I wanted something more (and that something was either going to the garbage or had been sitting there forever) I asked my supervisor if it was OK if I had it. Normal? :shrug to an extent. I think walking off with a pen once a month is normal, but a pack of pens is not.

I have taken pens, notepads, post its, markers, paper clips. All without realizing it but I have done it. I did take a few pieces of printer paper once because I didn't have any and I needed to print off a paper for college. Not an entire ream, just a few maybe 20 pieces at a time. Actually did that twice I think. Is it acceptable? No. Like someone said, technically it is stealing. Is it normal? Yes, Is it expected? Yes. I did know someone once that took printer paper, printer ink, toilet paper, soap, and feminine products on a regular basis. She was eventually caught and fired over it.

Oh yea, I took a roll of toilet paper once when it was close to pay day, but I was dead broke and needed tp, LOL
