View Full Version : Book for February ~*Amylynn*~ 01-23-2008, 07:26 PM Ok, ladies, since the month is almost over, we need to come up with a book for Feb...put your suggestions here, and I'll post a poll in a few days:yahoo ~*Amylynn*~ 01-31-2008, 07:53 PM ok, since tomorrow is Feb 1st...we need to pick a book!!! any ideas ladies??? unwrittenlaw 01-31-2008, 07:57 PM well, i have measure of a man on hand, lol! or there is sams letters to jennifer, i would love to read the lovely bones again. ~*Amylynn*~ 01-31-2008, 07:58 PM I still haven't read lovely bones ~*Amylynn*~ 01-31-2008, 07:59 PM Dear John is a good one Shannon 01-31-2008, 07:59 PM I really wanted to get my butt in gear and read The Little Lady Agency by Hester Browne. http://www.amazon.com/Little-Lady-Agency-Hester-Browne/dp/1416514929 Brown's charming debut finds Melissa -Romney--Jones losing yet another job, this time to layoffs due to a company merger. Out on the town with friends, Melissa runs into an old school acquaintance who is working for their old etiquette teacher as a companion for wealthy men. Melissa looks up the teacher and begins to schedule dates, but she's horrified to discover her old teacher is in fact running an escort service. Melissa quickly gets out of the business, but she's taken with the idea of a chaste version of it, and starts the Little Lady Agency to help socially clueless men and those merely in need of dates. Using the name Honey, Melissa accompanies one man to a family party, and helps another dump his girlfriend. She lands her biggest client in handsome American Jonathan, who just happens to be running the company she used to work for; but Melissa starts to wonder if she's losing her objectivity when she finds herself falling for Jonathan. A warm, winning tale. I'm not sure what kinds of books you girls want to read though. We could join in on the hype and read The Kite Runner (although probably most of you have read it already, I just haven't). Icis_930 01-31-2008, 08:03 PM umm Agnes and the hitman by jennifer crusie and bob mayer or just for kicks by susan andersen unwrittenlaw 01-31-2008, 08:42 PM im an oprah book club fan. i dont mind fiction, just not into the fantasy or anything romance novel-esque |
