Y'know, since it's quieter over here, I'm just going to make my own thread charting my progress over the next month. Hopefully on a daily basis, so that way I feel accountable whether or not someone is reading it. :D

Day #1:
So yesterday wasn't healthy, but it was just starting up for the low-carb business. I had no food in the house to start, so I ate a flavor-ice for breakfast. I had some fresh mozzerella for lunch (I know, weird). For dinner, I picked up a vegetarian Cobb salad with romaine, avocado, egg, red pepper, and goat cheese. I had 11 cups of water (5 1/2 .5L water bottles). The excessive water was due to walking several miles in the hot sun! I carried a 15-pack of water bottles for part of that journey too.

Day #2 Part 1
For breakfast I grabbed "cheese eggs" from the cafeteria. I believe that the scoop is 3/4 cup. I've had 500mL of water so far!

Day #2 Part 1.5

I'm soooooo hungry. I should have planned for snacks this afternoon. Maybe I can grab something on my way to my part-time job afterwork. I had two pickle spears and 1.75 cups of an asparagus/mushroom/avocado stirfry w/1 Tbsp of soy sauce for flavor for lunch. I've gotta get used to small portion sizes is the real deal. I'm stilling drinking water!

I need some sort of motivational picture. DB's photo just doesn't do it. Although his excessive references to working out all the time make me feel a little guilty!

I wish motivational picture worked for me...someone told me about this thing you put in the back of the fridge that screams "get out you fat cow" when you open the door...I so need that!!!!

Uh, well, it certainly makes me lose my appetite if that's what we're trying for. :giggle

Oh so...

Day 2 Part 2

I grabbed a couple of those cabot sharp cheddar slices that they sell individually in the store on my way to work since I knew I'd be there until 8pm+. That tided me over. For dinner I had an omelette with a few slices of sharp cheddar and I added like a mushroom and a couple piece of avocado from the stir fry I made for the next day, since I was lacking any form of veggie. It was overall unsatisfying and I feel a little sick from the eggs. Eggs always make me sick, but I need to get my protein and/or have -something- to eat on this diet. Atkins sucks for vegetarians and you need to supplement with a lot of tofu.

I remembered today why I lost the weight so fast last time: I was essentially starving, which is bad in the long and short run. My calorie intake drops because the food is generally pretty gross (i.e. eggs) and I am less inclined to eat whatsoever if that's all I can have. But for the time being, I'm just doing this to jumpstart my weight loss. When DB gets back and I'm seeing him all the time, that's serious motivation, Mr. I-Run-Six-Plus-Miles-Per-Day-Because-I'm-Crazy.

Day #3 Part 1

So just the thought of eating an egg this morning made me :sick. Instead I had the only diet-friendly things I owed: Three pickle spears (1g each) and a few slices of cheese. And I called that breakfast. Today I will go shopping at Whole Foods during my lunch break and purchase soy products like breakfast patties, tofu and garden burgers. And some more veggies. Hmm..I guess I'll have to go home before dance class.

Day #3 Part 2

I had a salad for lunch from the cafeteria (mainly mixed greens with some almonds and some roasted zucchini). At dinner I had a 1 1/2 cups of the avocado, mushroom and asparagus stirfry with 1 tbsp of soy sauce for flavor. I had a couple of ounces of cheese also. After dance class I had to go to work for a meeting where there was a potluck. I ate five pieces of PuppyChow (chex covered in chocolate/peanut butter). Only five though! Then I went home.

Day 4

For breakfast I had two hard boiled eggs with 2 tbsp of miracle whip and severa slices of sharp cheddar. For lunch I had a salad from the cafeteria which contained mixed greens, almonds, some roasted veggies - a light zinfandel dressing. For dinner I had another salad this time from Whole Foods with a few roasted soy bean, three different types of tofu (approx. 1/2 cup) and some feta with a greek ( 0 carb) dressing.

Marg made brownies and I really did eat my 1/80th of the brownie mix.

Day 5

For breakfast I had a .5-.75 cup of cheese eggs. For lunch, another salad - mixed green, several types of tofu, feta, roasted soybeans, mozzarella, and greek dressing.

For dinner I will have an avocado with a serving of soy sauce. I have to work late until 10, so I'll squeeze it in between jobs about 5pm.

On a good note, this morning, with clothes I weighed 166. 4 lbs down!

Doing better than me Shannon, but then again I am not really trying either right now - committed myself to starting my new dieta on Aug 13, then back to working out on Sep 1 (unless doctor doesn't release me).

My diet was kind of shot to hell by eating brownies this weekend. Everything else I did was right...but I just added a couple of brownies in there.

So I've been following the low carb business for the past few days, but there is disappointing news: I weighed myself this morning and the scale said 170. I have my period right now, so I think that has something to do with it. :vent I'm feeling gross, bloated :pinkie and generally like :poop with stress over moving built on top of it.

I read that exercise helps reduce the severity of PMS. Something to do with your hormones. So I guess I should start working out whenever I'm cranky.

I'm hoping that I'll be back down again by the end of the week.

So things have been kind of messed up with my diet lately. On Wednesday, I decided that I wasn't going to have time to be getting special salads and all, and instead, so I wouldn't have to leave my desk at work, got some slimfast shakes. Not so tasty. But I did that and a meal replacement bar for breakfast. Dinner..um...I actually dont' think I ate. Friday, I ended up eating nothing because I was so busy with the move and then I lost my appetite once I realized that my laptop was stolen.

Today I worked at Crate. I hadn't eaten since Thursday afternoon, so I was starving, but late to work because I had to go to the police station first, and ended up getting a low-fat banana chocolate chip coffee cake slice from Starbucks along with an iced cafe con leche. For lunch I had a small Greek salad with oil and lemon slice for "dressing"... tonight, I again remembered that last night we had ordered food and I had 8 pieces of grilled asparagus in the fridge. Then I especially ruined it all by making a big glass of frozen Mike's hard lemonade. Sugar, sugar, sugar. But to be honest, I'm not sure that my calorie count even reached a normal amount given the food I consumed. Although maybe the sugary Mike's will do it. Oh, I had a second cafe con leche at lunch also,. I was exhausted.

Exercise? None really. I'm lame. Probably exercise would help lower my blood pressure, which is probably through the roof given my stress. :(

My food consumption this weekend and today was very lame. I really lost my appetite with the whole laptop thing. So I ate a salad on Friday and that's it. On Saturday I was bad and got this low-fat banana chocolate chip coffee cake slice from Starbucks along with my iced coffee. For lunch I had a salad (mesclun greens, feta, kalamata olives with olive oil and a slice of lemon as a dressing). For dinner...Uhh...Oh, I hate some grill asparagus from the night before that I didn't eat. On Sunday I had a slimfast strawberry shake, a pickle, and a veggie burger with a slice of cheese on top. That was kinda it for the day.

Today I had a strawberry slimfast at work. Two Lindt chocolates (eek, yeah). And for dinner I had like two cups of watermelon. For drinks I had coffee, tea, water, and seltzer water.

I feel super sick. But I'll bitch about that in the vent section. My scale is packed somewhere amidst all of the stuff I haven't unpacked, so who knows how much I weigh. I don't think I've relost the weight though.
