View Full Version : Hard Choice...

Well, I was contacted by the dean of enrollment today and she offered me an option for my problem... She offered to "medically" drop me from my classes which means I won't fail, get a withdrawn (counts as an attempt and I only get 3) and don't have to pay back the pell grant money. Basically, it's will be erased that I even registered this semester from my transcript. I think it has alot to do with how well I did last semester because she was praising me for my very high GPA and hard work and knew this was a hard decision but probably the best. SHe knew that missing a week already and then the possibility of missing alot more that I wouldn't be able to recover and would end up possibly failing for something that I can't control. So, I said yes I wanted to do that. It was hard to do and I am very upset and feel bad but helpless. :sadeyes So, I have to take the dr's slip and return all my books and it is done... :sigh
Depending on if I get pregnant between now and the next few months will be the basis if I go back to Chipola or enroll online through FCCJ (Florida Community College at Jax...) I like online schools in state since the tution is low in state tuition and all the credits transfer vs a high priced school like University of Phoenix.
So, that is what is going on with me... very bittersweet. :sadeyes

It sounds like a good decision, a hard one, but at least you're not going to be penalized for anything. I did online classes through my local community college and it was great. Much much cheaper than those other online schools! Good luck Cori! I really hope you guys get pregnant and everything works out great. :hugs

I'm so sorry you had to make that decision hun, but it probably was for the best. DH is taking online courses and he loves it. His one class he is in right now gives him an outline of all the work/reading and he is just required to have it all completed by the end of the semester, which is perfect since he is always so busy! :hugs lots of good thoughts and prayers for you!

I'm sorry you had to make that decision, but it's a good choice. Better to seem as though you never enrolled than to get F's on your transcript. :hugs

I'm glad that they were able to work with you, so that at least it worked out financially speaking and keeps your record clear. I hope you're able to get back to school ASAP! You seemed to really love it last semester. :)
