View Full Version : have you ever had a really bad one....
Brandi 07-17-2006, 03:41 PM a hair cut, that is? How old were you when you got it? What did you hate about it?
Everytime I get my hair cut above my shoulders I end up hating it. Yet, I still keep doing it. I think I look best with mid-back length hair. :confuzzle
lilshagsgirl 07-17-2006, 03:53 PM YES!!! When I was 12 I was under the impression I could pull off VERY short hair and did it..dear god never again :lol I looked like a damn boy :wow I've also done colors I'll never try again cuz they don't look right.
lcandyheartl 07-17-2006, 03:55 PM I decided when I was like 14 or 15 to chop my hair really short. Mandy Moore had just done her hair incredibly short and that's the look I was going for. Biiiiiiig mistake! I looked like a boy. Never again, I look much better with long hair.
Dawna 07-17-2006, 07:15 PM Mine was just back in 2004-I saw a GREAT picture of Kristen from Laguna Beach & wanted a longer style of hers cause it was SO cute! Well I went to a new place that I had never been to before & this girl not only hacked my hair-she BLEACHED the highlighted parts instead of just highlighting them-My hair was pretty white:inshock & I cried-She even used toner to calm it down but we had no luck, I cried so hard!:vent
Anela1824 07-17-2006, 07:53 PM Every damn time I go to a salon, they cut too much hair off. Long-hair haters. There is a huge difference between 2 inches and 8 inches. It's like they get scissors happy.
Okay, I'm done for now:arg
navy.wife_2004 07-17-2006, 08:00 PM My hair was almost to my butt. I always let it grow out really really long like that and then I get tired of it and go for short. I did the really short hair once...yeh.. not good. And this last time. I went for a certain layered look... about four inches below my shoulder......that is not what I came out with. I came out with hair barely touching my shoulders and not the right cut at all!
I was pi$$ed. She says, "if you don't like it, in a couple of days, just come back"
Umm.... and make it shorter. I don't think so!
Dawna 07-17-2006, 08:25 PM I was pi$$ed. She says, "if you don't like it, in a couple of days, just come back"
OMG:rant :nutts
Stephie 07-17-2006, 08:32 PM before Christmas last year I went in for a trim and ended up leaving minus 8 inches of my long locks!! I missed them terribly and ended up crying for an hour... I was most upset though because my wedding was soon and I couldn't have the curls I wanted anymore
zelda780 07-18-2006, 04:27 AM Plenty of times!
When i was living in Japan I decided I needed a haircut. I went to a Japanese chain, thinking they'd be more likely to speak English. Wrong! I frantically flicked through magazines and they plonked me down on the chair, trying to find a photos of what I wanted. To my horror, there were pages and pages of mullets :shock I tried to ask for a short bob in my limited Japanese, and I thought that the hairdresser had understood. The cut wasn't too bad in the end, but I didn't realise that he'd left it a teeny bit longer at the back. About a month or so later, I was the proud owner of a mullet
Potatocup 07-18-2006, 10:00 AM I had moved and was trying a new stylist and he thinned my hair so much i only had half my head of hair. i was SO mad.
Sunshyne 07-18-2006, 10:23 AM Yes! Almost always when I get my haircut it is a bad experience. I have naturally curly hair and for some reason most people have a really hard time cutting it just right so that it doesn't make the curls stick out or make my hair into one big puff ball!
MichelleB 07-18-2006, 12:36 PM Yes, when I first moved up here to Jax. The same lady cut my mom and I's hair FOREVER. Well, I let one of the girls where I was getting my nails done do my hair and she did a horrible job. After that I just drove the 3 hours home when I wanted to get my hair done!
back-from-the-dead post!
I hate when my hair's short! I love it to the middle of my back. :yes
MynTop 09-17-2007, 02:00 PM Not hair cut but perm!!! They totally messed it up, didn't use enough neutralizer ended up giving me a bald spot on the back of my head and the damn thing fell out in three effing days!
Shannon 09-17-2007, 02:10 PM I had one in 6th grade that was horrific. We had to get an emergency cut before my uncle's wedding. So we went to Sears (the big red flag right there). I said that I wanted bangs. Like this whispy bangs, not thick. Instead she cuts a deep triangle back to the center of my head for the bangs. They were HUGE! I was SO upset I just sat there crying for days. I was humiliating to go to the wedding.
Frankie Lee 09-17-2007, 02:16 PM YES, when I was a freshman in high school going to the prom with a senior.... I went to go get my hair cut and styled and the guy messed it up BAD...I almost didn't go to the prom!!
Then when I was 22 I went in to have my really long hair "trimmed"....and came out with a short haircut..... then I was pissed!!
Christina 09-17-2007, 05:19 PM Hmmm, I know I was in high school maybe sophmore year? I went to this place where a family friend worked and she screwed my hair up so bad! Back then it was down towards the small of my back and I told her I wanted a trim, and she ended up cutting off so much and making a mess of it, that it ended up right under my ears when she was done:( I remember crying and crying and being humiliated when I went to school. I have really curly thick hair and it poofed out like crazy being that short.
Daydreamer 09-17-2007, 05:34 PM I went to have my hair layered and trimmed and she cut it way shorter than I wanted and it ended up looking kinda like a mullet. I hated it and I felt totally butch and like somethign from the 80's. My hair grows slow so it was horrible. The last time I went i just asked her to do really long layers so it wouldnt happen again. It is finally in a place where it is starting to look good again. I need a trim though but I am afraid to go because it is finally at a decent length. I need to trim it though to give it another growth spurt because I prefer it longer.
