I've been on cloud nine almost all day today and it's an amazing feeling. For the first time in years I'm happy in my job and it's making my home life even better:)

Today for instance I get an email out of the blue from Darth Vader congratulating me on my new position and how Mental Health was lucky to gain me as an employee, then she invited me to a party she was throwing, haha, I said no since I have class that evening. Then my previous boss before Darth Vader who retired back in 2003 and is now an outside provider for the department I work for, raved and raved about me to one of the counselors down the hall about what a wonderful person I am and that they are lucky to have me! Then to top it off the therapist I am currently working for and who is currently transitioning her position to another therapist, told my supervising boss (so confusing I know, I work for two people) that he has to recruit another secretary since she doesn't want to give me up to the person she is transfering her title too!! :)

So yay for finally getting respected and appreciated! I just love this.

Now I'm going to go burst my huge bubble so I can fit through the door to leave for home in 15 minutes, hehe:)

That's really awesome. You were so miserable there that its great to see you so happy now! At least you realize now that those people actually did appreciate everything you did there - too bad they only let you know *after* you were gone.

It really has been long overdue and is much appreciated to finally have a job that I am treated well and not being verbally abused.

My first boss (who is now one of our providers) was an excellent boss and the 2 1/2 years she supervised me (before she retired) were great, but when Darth Vader came on board, that's when all hell broke loose. It just amazes me that my old department doesn't seem to really appreciate their employees until after they are gone and that's when it sinks in just how much all those people really did for the department.
