What are some of your favorite ways to make meatloaf? I think I want to do meatloaf for dinner tonight, I'm just in the mood for that and some mashed taters. I only have one basic recipe for it though and it could use some work. So, how do you prepare yours?

lol i know there are lots of ways to make it but mine is plain and simple its boring lol! i put the meat, 2 eggs, and about 15-17 broken saltine crackers, and a squirt full of ketchup into a bowl and mix it all together and throw it in one of those bread pans cover and cook lol. Boring, i know!! Sometimes i have used that onion soup mix to add some flavor. Its good like that too. Even though its so boring i love it! :D

Thats basically how I do mine too but I use breadcrumbs instead of saltines. I bet the saltines add some saltiness to it though, which is why mine usually lacks. Maybe I will try using those instead. Oh, and I sometimes add in a little worsh sauce or garlic powder too.

I make mine without the tomato soup/ketchup and use a mushroom gravy instead but everything else is about the same. I just pour gravy over mine vs ketchup DH doesn't like meatloaf like that.

Thats about the same way as my mom makes it. She uses bread crumbs instead of crackers and usually just puts ketchup on the top. One time she put brown sugar in the bottom of the pan before she put the meat in so when she took it out, it would have a carmalized sweet crust on it. It was soooo good.

I have never really liked meatloaf..... I'm becoming less and less interested in meat as it is though.

Mine is a little different, I use 2 pounds of meat, 2 eggs, a pack of crackers, a can of veg-all, and i season it very good with garlic salt, lawreys all seasoning salt, and pepper, then i flatten it out and top it with spinach and mozerella cheese then i roll it like a burrito and close up the ends. bake it at 375 til its not pink :drool
