When is it ok to compare your kids to each other?

When is it not??

I know our job as parents are to raise our kids as individuals. Sometimes that is difficult!!!

I have found myself at times thinking to myself why can't one do something like the other.....I know it's wrong, but I also have to remember that they are individual people, and they do things differently.

I think its alright to compare your kids to each other. I mean, as long as you're not doing it in a hateful way. I cant forsee you saying something like "I wish you were as smart as Jason" or "You'll never be able to play baseball like Robert". I talk about how diffrent my kids are all of the time.

yeah thats a hard one i think as long as its not use in a bad way.( like why dont u act like ur brother)but if u use it in a good way like(My oldest is good at baesball and the other good at football) but all of my kids are diffant in so way and the same on others its all in how us parents do it:)

I definitely can compare my 2 b/c they are night and day! But I keep my opinions to myself and try to be very careful not to say things like, "Why can't you behave like your brother?" I don't really think that helps things at all.
