Adam and I are going to adopt. we just dont know when yet. im starting to do my research a little at a time. for now all i really know is we will need a lawyer, and lots of money, lol!

my dream was always to adopt from china, but they made new regulations which makes it impossible for me to until im 30, boo. but! the neighboring country, Kazakhstan, is open to married couples at our age. and they are pretty open as to who adopts.

i know we'd have to make two trips before taking the child back to the country. the first is 3-4 weeks. then a month later we'd have to go back for 4-7 days. and i thinka t that time, we would be able to take the child with.

i dont know anything about this country. so i am first going to see if adoption is currently open, and how long the process takes, THEN im going to read read read about the place, haha!

anyway, im pretty excited. its been my dream for soo long and im just really lucky adam is on board as well.:clap

thank ladies, i was reading on a site last night that a good idea to do is to write a journal of the process. so when the child is of suitable age, you can present it to them and show them the journey you went on before they arrved.

i picked up a special "journey through adoption" journal today, and im going to start writing in it soon. it even has pages to fill out like when you file for adoption, and petition the country and such. im excited about it all.

That's a great idea, and something I've heard of as well.
