What is the going rate for manicures & pedicures in your area?

Just a standard mani pedi together is like $20 at a normal shop here. To get acrylic nails and a pedi is somewhere near $30-35.

A cheap quickie is $15 mani and $20 pedi. I'm going on Saturday to a spa that is $27 for a mani and $50 for a pedi but that is 1.5 hours each with a good massage and paraffin treatment included.

ok for a non-spa treatment and without any frills, me bringing in my own polish & top coat...they want $50 here! Isn't that a little pricey??? I cancelled my appointment...I can't see paying $50 for that!!!!

Heck no! I'd do my own damn nails and spend the fifty somewhere else! The only time I really go get my nails done anyway is when I'm having acrylics put on. I love that they have the buffers here now with all the different sides that are to buff and smooth and shine and all that nonsense. Makes it so much easier to do at home.

Not really, out in town it gets pricey...but this is what the NEX salon wants...I think it's too much.

I have ingrown toe & finger nails right now and wanted them fixed & to have nice nails for Hawaii...but not at $50...I'll live as I haev with what I have till the gal who usually does them out of her home comes back from the states in August for $30!

Here you pay, at your average local nail place (i.e. NOT a spa or upscale salon):

$25 for french tips, $20 for a basic polish
$45 for a pedicure (which generally include a soak and polish)

And sometimes they'll give you a break on both for like $60 or something.

I would wait too. When are you going to HI? If she wasn't going to be back in time I'd definitely splurge but if ya get em done now and you're not going to HI for a while chances are you'd have to get them done again before you leave anyway. Have fun in Hawaii btw! I loooove it there, I can't wait, I get to go back next year when db is there on his way home from deployment. :)

I leave on Tuesday and it's for surgery...so not really a "fun trip" persay. I lived without having my nails professionally done the 2 other times I went this year I think I'll survive going another time without them done - just kinda wanted them done. Oh well...I may stop in at teh beauty salon at the NEX there and see how much they will do them for...
