I was just curious about elopements. Did you elope? Do you know anyone that has? Tell us about it!

I mean, some planning must be called for, right? What did you decide to throw money into for the elopement? A great hotel? A last-minute wedding dress? A video camera to capture it all? Or was it really a bare-bones, wake up the JOP or pull up to Elvis event?

What defines elopement? The fact that you don't tell anyone? Or that it's a last-minute decision?

I wanted to elope....DH wanted a big wedding. Grr...

It was just his Mom there as our other parents couldn't be there in time and we would of had to wait a long time for them to come out & we were leaving SD in a couple months & wanted it there.

So, I found an elopement package for La Jolla that was a little under $3-400 and within 2-3 weeks, the minister married us on a cliff overlooking the ocean :)

From what I read, an elopement is having like 10 or less people there :shrug

I'm not srue. I would think it would be the short notice and not telling anyone until after the marraige.

I think we spent less than $500 total which included my dress, the room, the ceremony and his tux. We planned it all out in less than a week. This is where we got married and spent the night after our wedding. We were in the jungle room :giggle

umm i just got married in front of the justice of the peace.

We eloped in Virginia Beach! DH was in A-School there and I went to visit him. Spur of the moment decision. We had 4 guys from his school there and the JOP. I wore flip flops, shorts, and a halter top. DH wore shorts, tank top, and flip flops :giggle
Ours was just a spur of the moment. At that point we had been dating for 3 1/2 years and there was talk of them getting orders overseas. He wanted to make sure that I was "taken care of" :wub
Told our parents like 3 weeks later when we got back to OK :giggle Needless to say everyone was shocked! We were married June 14, 2002 and it didn't really hit me that I was married until like Sept. :giggle

Nope....but I really wanted to do about a week before the wedding!:giggle
