Well, I normally wouldn't purchase anything except my Venus b/c I (L) the Venus razors, however I had a coupon for the Soleil and it ended up being dirt cheap. So, I decided to give it a try.

NOT impressed AT ALL! :td The shave was HORRIBLE... so much like a cheapo razor.

The Soleil, in my opinion, is not worth the money and not even comparable to the Venus.

I'm posting to disagree.

I only use Soleil razors, both the toss aways and the replaceable heads and it gives me the smoothest shave I've had from a disposable. :thumbsup The ergonomic grip is very comfortable, the quad-blades and double gel-pads give it an easy close glide. You just need to realize that you're essentially buying that same razor, the same blades as the disposables - it just takes up less room - its not meant to be an alternative to something like a pricey razor.

If you're a toss-away girl to begin with, I think that the Soleils are the best on the market. If you're buying the expensive kind already, then you just need to realize that you're going back down a step when you buy the Soleil replaceable head razor - it isn't meant to compete with the likes of a Venus. It's like buying an at-home hair dye and expecting the same results as going to a professional salon.

hmm, I'm gonna have to try it and see for myself.

Shannon, I think the problem might be that I haven't used a disposable razor in YEARS, I've always used the Venus since it came out (I want to say about 6 years or so ago I think) so that's all I"ve really known and the change was just not what I expected. I had no idea that the Soleil was even considered a disposable razor, for some reason I thought it was going to be exactly like Venus.

:agree I did the same exact thing, thinking it would be ok & it was awful-I still had stubble & the shave was not close at all-I was so disappointed
