My cat Chloe is in heat right now (weird, because she hasn't been in forever, and my sister mentioned it this morning, and now she is!) and my sisters cat Tyler, who has been fixed for well over a year, is trying to "mate" with her. He's done this every single time she's been in heat. She'll do her little whine/come get me thing, and he'll get ontop of her as if it's going to do any good... and he's mean about it too, he bites her while he's ontop of her and makes her scream even louder! Is that normal?? My cat Big Boy doesn't do it. :shrug: Tyler is a pretty stupid cat in general (honestly, we think he's mentally challenged), maybe he doesn't realize he's fixed? I've never seen cats mate, is the male usually mean while they're doing their thing? :lol: I'm so confused! It's quite annoying to have to make him get off of her every 20 minutes.

Yeah, it's normal. Cat's tend to have "angry sex" :giggle Even if they've been fixed for years, some are just like that. My in laws have two male fixed cats that are 10+ yrs old and try to mate with one another all the time.

Yep!! My cat Teddy does this to our Chloe on a daily basis! He's been neutered, too! He will bite the back of her neck and then it looks like he's kneading her..weird! LOL!!!

Thats normal! Even neutered cats still sense/smell that a female is in heat,so some (not all) will just mount from instinct!And yes,they are quite "mean" during! :giggle

LOL, that is GABRIEL, LMAO!! I have a male who only gets in the mood when one of my females in heat, lol, and only then. Good thing my girls are indoor cats that will be spayed soon!!
